Production procedures of our pieces are accurate, precises and detailed...
PREPARATION OF THE BODY
Porcel receives the body, of high quality, directly from France, in two different types:
Plastic body - it is prepared passing the body through the vacuum machine for homogenization, introduction of fresh air and attainment of a kind of "cylinders" with the adequate diameter for the production of the subsequent piece;
Liquid body casting - it is prepared at a high rotation blender, where is added water and chemical dispersing proceeding to the adjustment of density and viscosity.
There are two ways for the pieces to be shaped:
Via plastic body - to produce round pieces, such as plates and saucers, shaped with roller machines;
Via liquid body casting - to produce pieces of different and/or complex shapes, such as pots, oval tureens and coffee pots, which are shaped by traditional filling up, using plaster moulds. Other pieces can be produced using an injection of an under pressure machine, such as platters or pickle dishes (pieces between moulds).
DRYINING ANF FINISHING
After shaping, the pieces are dried, about 100ºC, so that they can easily be handled. Afterwards, the pieces are finished to remove imperfections.
On the following step, the pieces are going to be fired at around 1000ºC, obtaining bisque pieces. This firing gives to the pieces some characteristics that are fundamental to the next operation, particularly mechanic resistance and porosity.
At this step, pieces are selected and it's made the dust removal, so that they are ready for glazing; this operation is done by immersion of the bisque pieces into glaze liquid suspension.
After glazed, the pieces return to the kiln to be fired around 1400ºC, to obtain porcelain pieces.
The porcelain is therefore selected and duly stored at the whiteware area.
It can be done by hand made printing through decal application and/or gold, platinum or ink fillet, applied manually or mechanically.
A new firing operation, specific for decorated pieces, can be made at different temperatures, depending on the type of products that constitute the corresponding decal/fillet and/or kind of intended characteristics to be given to the piece:
900ºC - on glaze; 1250ºC - in glaze; 1400ºC - high-fire.
The pieces are selected one by one and the standard product is packed in cardboard boxes or gift boxes (according to the kind of pieces).
After packed, the products are sent to the commercial warehouse.
At the commercial warehouse, the pieces are gathered in sets, the orders dispatched and the expedition prepared.
The products reach the costumers through different means of transport depending the case.
Gold / Platinum of Porcel's decorations can be used in the dishwasher according to ASTM 3565 rule.
